This school was a new 105,000 s.f. elementary school designed for Grades 1 through 5, for 1,016 students. The school is designed with grade level clusters, with restrooms, activity space, and teacher planning shared by two grades. The school also includes 2 science classrooms, 2 computer labs, art room, music room, and special populations suite. A key feature of the building is a ceramic mural at the lobby entrance of the school by artist Dixie Friend Gay. The original elementary school was demolished, as well as houses on 7 adjacent lots that were acquired for the school site. We achieved LEED Silver Certification for the school.
